QuickSell Tech Stuff

On previous versions of QuickSell 2000 (2.01e and before), there was a Sales Tax Report that displayed Tax-Exempt Sales, Non-Taxable Sales and Taxable Sales.  This was simply called Sales Tax Report.  SMS did away with the report for two reasons. First, it could not handle a change in tax rate. If your state raised the sales tax rate then the report would show previous sales at the new tax rate.  Second, their were issues with rounding errors.  However, many people still want this report.  It is now in QuickSell Commerce but it actually still is there in QuickSell 2000.  SMS didn't get rid of the report, they just made it disappear. Here's how to make it reappear.

Microsoft and Retail Technologies, LLC are not responsible for rounding errors or misreporting of taxes in the Sales Tax Report.

To bring back the Sales Tax Report

1.)Open the c:\qs2000\exe folder

2.)Find the qs2000.mnu file and open it with Notepad.

3.)This is a list of the reports that show under QS Manager/Reports Section.

4.)While keeping spacing uniform with existing entries, add the following statement under Custom at the bottom:

Custom = Sales Tax Report : TAX.DEF

It should look like this

5.) Save the changes, reopen QS Manager and go to Reports/Custom. Viola!
